Did You Know That Live Bands Don’t Necessary Cost More Than A DJ?

Posted: June 12, 2012

As you know, there's a lot of planning that goes in to creating a great wedding.  So if music is your thing, then picking the musical entertainment for your big day can be a great way to support your bride.

Now, there are a lot pros and cons when looking to hire a band or DJ.  You really can make a stong case for both, so it really comes down to what you want.  If you find yourself leaning toward a band but decide on a DJ because you asume the band is going to cost a lot more, think again.

Nancy with Northwest Artist Management is here to explain why a great band may cost less than you might imagine. "The best way to save time, money and frustration is to book your wedding music with a reputable booking agency.  Let the expertise of a professional agency be your private "search engine".  Their goal is to make finding special wedding music easy, affordable and fun.  A good place to start is to set a budget, and then decide the style of music you want.  Ask for a band's playlist, and start making your own request list from there.  Ask about live band and DJ combos too.  Be sure to get bids from several, so you can decide which one is the best fit for you."

"Frequently, a memeber of the band (guitarist and/or keyboard player) can also play the ceremony music, which saves the cost of briniging in a saraprat group.  The booking agency can give you price ranges to expect, so you can be more prepared.  They can give you fresh ideas, if the band you want is already booked or costs more than you can spend.  They can really help make the process as smooth as possible, and make you look like a hero!"

"Everyone is budget conscious these days, so it is good to know that using a booking agency will usualy not cost more than booking the band directly.  Bands quote an agency a much lower price, because of the time they save from doing all the paper work, managing credit card payments and coordinating the planning details."

A big thank you to Nancy for sharing this great informatin with us.  So, if you really want to have a band at your wedding, let the professionals at a booking agency help you find the one you want at a price that fits your budget.
