3 Common Men’s Wedding Band Woes (And How To Fix Them)

Getting your wedding band should be easy compared to getting her engagement ring, right? Wrong! Here are three common problems men encounter when shopping for their wedding band - and their simple fixes.

Your budget doesn’t allow for a precious metal ring. Because shopping for the groom’s ring can often come closer to the end of the wedding preparation process, many couples can find themselves in a tough financial position when it comes time to select his wedding band. You may have had every intention of purchasing a classic (and pricy) platinum or gold wedding ring, but it could also be the purchase that breaks your bank account.

Fortunately, there are great options that will allow you to get a high quality wedding band at a fraction of the price of precious metals. Argentium silver is an advanced sterling silver alloy that has silver’s timeless look with greatly improved tarnish and oxidization resistance. Like Argentium silver, cobalt chrome wedding bands, for men, have the white metal look of platinum or white gold and are incredibly affordable, durable and hypoallergenic.

You HATE wearing jewelry. If you’re the guy who avoids wearing even a watch, you may be wondering how you’re going to keep a wedding ring on your finger. Luckily, there are contemporary materials that seem to be custom made for jewelry-phobic men: namely, titanium and ceramic. Both of these modern materials are super lightweight, and their wearers often feel like they are wearing nothing at all.

There’s something else to consider: the actual fit of the interior of your wedding band. It could be that you’ve only tried traditional fit bands, those that have a more squared off interior, which some men find to be uncomfortable to wear on a daily basis. Comfort fit wedding bands are a more recent innovation and use additional material on the interior of the band for a more rounded shape, which in turn results in greater comfort.

The standard men’s wedding bands don’t suit your personal style. If you are balking at the idea of a traditional “plain domed” wedding band, then it’s time to get creative! Today, wedding bands for men come in a vast variety of materials and styles.  There really is something to suit every individual taste, so why settle for anything less?   Now is the time to get out there and find the wedding ring that reflects your own unique style, so you can be proud to wear it for the rest of your life!
